Floors & elevations
Manage the storeys of your building, add elevation drawings, and line multiple floor plans up with each other.
Working with storeys
Each floor plan you upload becomes one storey of the building, listed in the sidebar in building order. From there you can:
- Add another storey by uploading another floor plan drawing.
- Reorder storeys by dragging them into the correct building order.
- Rename a storey, or mark the top storey as a roof.
- Remove a storey you no longer need.
Every storey keeps its own scale, tool settings and edits, so you can work through a tall building floor by floor without affecting the others.
Elevation drawings
Elevation drawings are optional, but they let the height of each storey, door and window come from the actual drawing instead of the default values. You can upload one per compass direction the building faces — North, East, South, West, North East, South East, South West and North West — and only add the ones you actually have.
On an elevation, the drawing tools work the same way as on a floor plan, except the Wall tool becomes the Building tool, used to trace the building's outline at that elevation, and doors/windows are marked at their real height above ground.
Aligning floor plans
Because separate drawings rarely share the exact same origin or scale, the Align tab lets you overlay one storey's floor plan on top of another (or on top of an elevation) so you can line them up visually before generating the model. For the plan you're positioning, you can adjust:
- The opacity of the current plan and its underlying image, so you can see through to the reference below.
- The opacity of the reference plan and its image, shown for comparison.
- An aspect-ratio lock, to resize without distorting the drawing.
- A shared origin point, set once and reused across floor plans so everything lines up on the same coordinates.
